ℹ️ I should clarify that this website don’t try to identify “true” syllables, prefixes, or suffixes in the linguistic sense. Instead, it shows a statistical segmentation approach. Frequent beginnings and endings of words are extracted and treated as possible segments. This is not meant as a linguistic definition, but as a heuristic to highlight recurring patterns in the text. That can be useful in exploratory analysis, especially for undeciphered corpora like the VMS where we don’t have established morphological rules. So the output shouldn’t be read as “these are the actual syllables/prefixes/suffixes,” but rather as candidate patterns worth investigating further.
